Our NAME Day weekend will be held on October 11-12th but you don’t need to be left out of the garden!
The NAME Day limited edition kit (The Courtyard) centers around a garden theme and our own Liz West (Taffy & Me Creations, liz@taffyandme.com) didn’t want any of our QC members to feel left out. So Liz designed a special FREE PROJECT that everyone can participate in, “The Secret Garden”.
Liz will be providing patterns and instructions in the Quarter Connection Groups.io files so that you can make your own walled Secret Garden scene.
We actually have 2 versions of The Secret Garden for you to choose from (or maybe make both).
Kathy made a sample of the simple, 3-walled version that Liz first came up with. Since she likes everything neat and tidy, this sample is well cared for and very formal. It is easy to assemble, but has a smaller footprint to landscape and decorate.
Michelle, created a more elaborate version, immersed into a faux book. Her vision entailed a more overgrown garden, much like how it would have been when the children in the story, The Secret Garden, first found it.
Liz is also giving everyone an added incentive to participate in the Secret Garden Project. She has agreed to cut KITS of BOTH versions for those who are not comfortable cutting their own.
Kit A (Simple Version) will include:
A 3” X 5” base with (2) stepped walls, a split front wall with a simple door (fancy gate available separately), low walls to make the “pond area”, and top trim for all of the walls. You will have access to print your own brick and stone papers from the many patterns provided in the QC Groups.io files.
Kit Cost = $10.00
Kit B (BOOK Version) will include:
A 4” X 6” faux book to assemble, (3) stepped walls, a split front wall with a simple door (fancy gate available separately), and top trim for all of the walls. You will have access to print your own book spine, brick and stone papers from the many patterns provided in the QC Groups.io files. Michelle has also recorded (4) videos explaining the construction of the garden and the pond.

Shipping outside North America = $25.00
BUT, as an added bonus, if you have ordered the NAME Day Courtyard Kit from Liz already, the extra shipping cost for one or two Secret Garden Kits (shipped with your NAME Day kit) would only be $5.00 extra.
During the NAME Day kit registration, Liz offered the garden accessory kits “a la carte” as well.
Since those kits would also work well with The Secret Garden project, she has agreed to cut more of these accessories:
Fancy Gate
The ¼ scale gate, cut from 1/16th basswood, choose from Gate A with a squarer top or Gate B which features a rounded top, matching the arch’s curve. Gates measure 1” wide by 2” high. $ 4 .00 each
Fancy Fence Pieces
Liz designed the fence, matching the gate’s bottom, to fill the open area. Fence A is 3/4″ high X 1″ long; Fence B is 1″ high x 1″ long, cut from 1/16th basswood. See the photo for its application. $ 4 .00 for 2 pieces
Fancy Bench
The bench back matches the top of the gate and is 1” wide with the back being 13/16” high. Choose Bench A or Bench B.

The Bistro or Café Set (Table & 2 Seats)
Table is 5/8” square and stands 3/4” high. It is made from 16th basswood and features a decorative laser cut-out design on the top. Kit includes two matching seats, suitable for use in any courtyard or garden.

Pair of Layered Hanging Planters are perfect for either inside or outside, adding a bit of color and enhancing any room or theme.

Pair of Lattice Planters, inspired by a “sidewalk planter,” are suitable for any garden or porch. The sides feature a lattice design with a “frame” around. Each planter measures 3/8” wide and 3/8” tall. If you find you only need one in this scene then you have another one for another scene. $ 5.00 a pair
